Vivia Ventures B.V. (Vivia) wants to introduce Dutch companies to packaging that is sustainable, recyclable and innovative in design. Recently, the Dutch company set up operations in the BioPartner Center on the Wageningen Campus. Oost NL supported the company in its search for a suitable location and the introduction into the ecosystem and regulations that are possible in the Netherlands.
Vivia is an innovative R&D company for packaging technologies and commercialization, aimed at the food, health and consumer products industries. Vivia offers design solutions for flexible packaging that reduce the problem of plastic waste. By making packaging smarter and more circular, with easy to open features, end-users have less to shred. Ultimately, by using only one recyclable polymer material, less packaging waste ends up in the environment. (Micro) plastics and plastic pollution in the environment are major problems for people and nature. The company’s design technologies are suitable for many different types of flexible packaging – for solids, liquids and beverage products.
Vivia chose the Wageningen Campus because of its proximity to other innovative (agri-food) companies. The company also seeks cooperation in the region in the field of R&D for design customization and commercialization of its novel packaging solutions. The company will in due course employ five people. The establishment involves an investment of five million euros. Vivia develops and commercializes packaging patents owned by its affiliate, PopPack LLC.
